The Barossa Valley’s Quality
Eden Valley Taste
We are a boutique producer in the truest sense of the word, producing a very small amount of both Shiraz and Viognier, two varieties that display the best of their varietal characteristics in the climate and soil of our Eden Valley Vineyard.

Vintage Reports
Vintage 2014
Of drought and flooding rains… Or perhaps fire and ice… The 2014 growing season saw several months being well below average rains, and others that had downpours that exceeded the monthly average. Heatwaves and clear nights gave way to frost bitten mornings well into the growing season, and then the outer reaches of the region was also ravaged by fires across the far Eastern grazing country. Yields across the Barossa and Eden Valleys were down, and wines are bright, intensely perfumed and have good acid structure. It was a vintage that kept Viticulturists and Winemakers on their toes.
Vintage 2015
Conditions leading into the 2015 season were slightly drier than average, but temperatures remained average or slightly below during the Summer months, reducing the burden on the vines and providing a dryer than average and milder than average ripening period. This led to both reds and whites developing concentrated and expressive flavour profiles though yielding slightly below average. Early signs in the winery point to 2015 being an exceptional year.
Vintage 2016
The 2016 growing season was characterised by a dry Spring and an early Summer heatwave in December which raised concerns for an early vintage. The rest of Summer proceeded to be mild with some rains which allowed for a gentle ripening season, resulting in good flavour and yield. For the Barossa and Eden Valleys the 2016 Vintage is one of good yields, and exceptional flavour and perfume for whites and reds. On the back of a wonderful 2015 Vintage, 2016 looks to be raising the bar.
Vintage 2017
It was a long, wet and stormy Winter and Spring in 2016 that delivered us into a slow and steady 2017 growing season. With almost double the average rainfall in some areas, frost was not a problem but cold wet soils kept the vines moving slowly. Weather was favourable for flowering and fruitset giving strong yields. The mild conditions continues throughout the growing season and vintage, delivering strong yields of fruit that had intensity of flavour and colour due to favourable temperatures for the development and low vine stress levels. The only downside was that nobody got any time off over Easter because vintage was still happening thick and fast after the late kick-off.
